October 22, 1960 — August 29, 2004
Fenton Lucas, father, husband, friend to all.
My daughter Rhonda Jean James was born on a sunny fall day October 22, 1960. She was a happy, good natured little girl, and was later joined by two sisters, Shelley and Lori, and a brother Michael.
Rhonda enjoyed a normal childhood, graduated from high school and attended Patricia Stevens Business School in Milwaukee, WI and Minneapolis, MN.
Rhonda worked for several years and enjoyed movies and going to dances with her friends. When she was in her early twenties she and her two sisters and my granddaughter were diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. She did okay for a few years, she suffered several broken legs and arms due to falls, and was eventually confined to a wheelchair, and had much difficulty with swallowing, and susceptible to pneumonia over the years which weakened her lungs.
Rhonda attended church and loved her church family, friends, and especially her step-daughter, Lyndsey, and step-son, Ben, who was a big help to her well being.
Rhonda was a full organ donor as she believed that was something good that could come from this awful disease. We do know that there are a couple of people that are enjoying a better life because of her donation.
Rhonda is deeply missed by her friends and family, but we have comfort knowing she is in the care of the Lord and suffers no more.
