Sometimes - talking with a recipient of your donor's gift can help.
As a donor family, you should know that a recipient's decision to write to you a very personal choice. Some recipients choose to write to their donor's family and others do not.
IOPO is bound by medical ethics and privacy regulations and we take the donor and recipients privacy seriously.
As a donor family, you may inform IOPO that you would be open to receiving communications from recipients of your donor's gift - or you may elect not to do so - it's entirely up to you and we will abide by your wishes.
If you so decide, IOPO may be able to help facilitate the communications, but only if both parties are open to it.
If, as an donor family member you are interested in writing to a recipient, please contact IOPO's Aftercare Department at 1-888-ASK-IOPO or email info@iopo.org.
