Life is wonderfully capricious and unpredictable. It seems to carry us along, sometimes in unanticipated directions. Sometimes we soar; other times we plummet.
Eventually, often all too soon for those we leave behind, life takes flight. IOPO knows first-hand how exquisitely fragile life can be.
The IOPO Foundation was founded when friends of organ donors and recipients made contributions to IOPO. The Foundation was formed to provide stewardship for these funds. Today, IOPO Foundation is proactive, raising funds to support IOPO’s multi-faceted efforts to increase donation in Indiana. Tax-deductible contributions to IOPO Foundation are used to further organ, tissue, and eye donation and for educational efforts to explain the urgent need for donation. The ultimate goal is to save lives through transplantation.
Many programs stem from one shared mission.
IOPO Foundation supports all of IOPO’s programs to advance the donation and transplantation of organs and tissue in Indiana as well as IOPO’s advocacy efforts that influence legislation furthering donation. The IOPO Foundation also sponsors Indiana Life Celebration Quilts that serve as portable memorials honoring Indiana organ donors.
