Waiting for an Organ
What's it like waiting for a life-saving organ transplant?
Waiting for an Organ Transplant
What should you do until your organ becomes available?
Of course, much depends on your physical condition, but try to stay in good spirits and be healthy. You should live your life each day as if it is your last day on earth.
Your family and friends can be a strong support network for you during your wait. Embrace them.
There are also support networks available to you while you wait including:
- Organ Transplant Support Friends (OTS Friends)
- The National Foundation for Transplants
- For Indiana Liver Transplant Patients, contact the CHALTS Liver Support Group at Indiana Medical Center in Indianapolis at (317)846-1579 or via email at jackcarmel@aol.com
Explore the support services available to you and continue to live your life as normally as possible.
