Nurses
Nurses are angels of life - they save lives even when it becomes apparent that a life cannot be saved by notifying IOPO clinical triggers for donation have been met.
Nurses - Partners with IOPO in Saving Life
Nurses are with the patients far more frequently than the physicians. They monitor patients closely at all times. When a patient experiences an aneurysm or other brain trauma that leads to probable brain death, nurses are trained to recognize the clinical triggers that signal a possible organ donation case.
Even though nurses, along with the doctors, try their very best to save the patient's life, they recognize that once it is apparent that a patient is brain dead, there is still one more opportunity to save life - via organ donation.
IOPO salutes these angels who work to turn a tragic situation into a life-saving event.
